We purchased our house in 2011 to become our family home. The location and character of our property was exactly what we wanted but the layout and design of our family home was far from what we desired. A mixture of 17 C original cottage blended with multiple extensions across a 300 year period meant that the house just did not flow. Being a cottage without significant extensions getting our house to become a home would be challenging.

The layout we achieved with Adam and his team surpassed even our best expectations and now we have a very light and airy cottage with plenty of good family living space both inside and out. All this was achieved without adding a single Sqm of extra extension space. The charm of the 17C cottage has been maintained whilst adding subtle modern touches taking advantage of massive improvement in insulation and energy efficiency which has also resulted in a greater reduction in running costs.

The flexibility and speed of the work AR|Designs produced helped us along our journey right from initial concept of helping us to understand what we wanted from our future home, right through the build phase (which throws up lots of challenges on an old property) to the finishing touches that finalise a home. We felt that Adam was a real part of our process and would not hesitate to recommend his work to others.
